About this place
The chewy wheat gluten in the dish called Nama-fu with Silky Yuba Sauce makes a tempting evening plate to enjoy with sake. Some diners have remembered the contrast between the gluten’s springy texture and the sauce’s gentle flavour. The same wheat gluten is also served as two-colour dengaku, offering a different way to try it.
Sake-lees cream cheese comes with a baguette; one visitor enjoyed it as a dessert-like dish. Other options for nibbling while choosing a drink include mackerel heshiko, smoked cheese and crab-miso butter served with baguette. Seasonal vegetable obanzai are also recommended by some diners. Small plates such as yam simmered with plum and richly simmered daikon can accompany a glass.
There is a broad selection of sake. Some visitors have asked for help choosing based on their preferences or a region, while others have enjoyed sampling several in small pours. The menu includes options such as Kura from Fushimi, Kyoto, and Tamagawa from Kyotango, making it possible to choose a glass to go with the food. Ikkon Uru-Uru also serves dry curry and rice with chirimen and sansho pepper, so an evening can centre on small plates or extend into a leisurely meal.
Reservations are recommended for dinner, so groups may want to check about seating in advance.
